Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Home Ops. Plain English; binding nonetheless.

Last updated 2026-05-13 · governed by the laws of England and Wales.

1. Who we are

Home Ops is operated by Harshal Sahetiya, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom ("Home Ops", "we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@home-ops.app.

2. The agreement

By creating an account you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Notice. You must be 13 or over. If you are using Home Ops on behalf of someone else (e.g. a household), you confirm you have their consent to enter household data on their behalf.

3. The service

Home Ops is a household-operations app: it helps you track tasks, routines, meals, a shopping list, expenses, and household goals, with an AI assistant ("the butler") that responds to natural-language input. The service is provided on an "as is" basis. We strive for reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

AI replies are advisory. Do not rely on the butler for legal, medical, financial, or any other professional advice.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe and for the activity on your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are being used to violate these Terms, applicable law, or the rights of other users.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of everything you put into Home Ops. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, transmit, and process that content solely so we can run the service for you (including sending the relevant parts to the subprocessors listed in the Privacy Notice). You may export or delete your content at any time.

You must not use Home Ops to store, process, or transmit anything unlawful, infringing, or abusive, or in any way that would violate the rights of others.

6. Plans, trials, and payment

During the launch period Home Ops includes a free trial. If we introduce paid plans, current terms (including price) will be shown to you before you subscribe; you can cancel at any time and your cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not auto-charge after a trial ends — you have to explicitly opt in to a paid plan.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change we will give you reasonable notice (e.g. by email or an in-app banner) before it takes effect. Continued use after the change means you accept the updated Terms.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone or via DELETE /api/me. We can suspend or terminate an account if you materially breach these Terms or applicable law, with notice except in cases requiring an immediate response (e.g. ongoing abuse).

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Home Ops is not liable for indirect or consequential losses (e.g. lost profits, lost data beyond what can be recovered from the last available backup, or loss of opportunity) arising out of your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Our total aggregate liability to you in any 12-month period will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in that period, or (b) £50.

10. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that if you are a consumer resident in another part of the UK or in the EU, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
